I love this boy...

...even during times like this. Thank goodness his "screeching like a banshee on steroids" moments are very scarce. Hee!

Have a wonderful week!

A bag of goodies

I received this bag of goodies in the mail and I've had this silly grin ever since! What a great surprise!

It's a kit I won at 52 Sketches a couple of weeks ago...a stunning kit from Color Me Daisy. I am over the moon! Thank you so much Julie!

Because I love Cosmo Cricket

Don't you just love Cosmo Cricket? Every time I purchase one of their collections I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. They're absolutely adorable!

I just love the colours of the Earth Love collection:

Early Bird is one of my all time favourites:

Both layouts are based on sketches from 52 Weeks.

Have a wonderful week!

Tutorial #2 - Stamp and stitch!

I'm not a huge fan of Sassafras, but these new Stitching stamps are just fantastic! I used them in my new page for 52 Sketches and I really love how it turned out!

I used just one sheet of My Mind's Eye Abbey Road paper, front and back side:

And the super duper stamps to fake the stitching:

And to keep with the "nothing goes to the garbage" motto, I used the bottom label of the sheet to make the tittle and a little embellishment. It came very handy when I realized you could spell BAD BOY using the ABBEY ROAD letters (I'm so smart...).

Finally a Prima flower, oh how I wish I could use more flowers in my layouts!

And ta-da! A less than 30 minute page before bedtime!

Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Tutorial #1 - Nothing goes to the garbage!

Hello and happy Sunday!

I finally managed to get some quality scrapbook time and this is what I came up to: A sketch by

I love to find inspiration with unusual materials. Here I cut a circle from a scrapbook goodies box and added some distressing glitter:

You have to use a good amount of glue to make sure the pictures won't go anywhere in the middle of the night:

And place it on the background paper. I suggest a soft design to make the photos pop nicely:

I couldn't decide which design to use for the strips...they are all so gorgeous! So why not use them all?! The paper pack label was perfect for that!

Place the photos and the background paper on the label making sure you cover the bar-code!

I used some butterflies embellies, Basic Grey stamps (from the Porcelain collection), orange ric-rac, and my all time favourite Apron Lace punch.

The small alphas along the lines of the circle add a nice touch (no idea where they came from, Dollar Store I guess?). And the big alphas are Pink Paislee (coloured with alcohol marker to match)

Finally, the journaling. I prefer to print my journaling. I think it looks more "professional", but being that my printer in in storage I had to do it the "unprofessional" way. Ugh.

Ta-da! A quick layout using wrapping box, labels, and old embellies! Nothing goes to the garbage!

*Disclaimer* - The "Nothing goes to the garbage" motto doesn't apply to you honey. I'm still going to spring clean the garage ;-)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Autumn goodies

The new CHA releases are so wonderful that I am having a really hard time sticking to my scrapbook budget. I want everything!

My favourites so far are Amber Road by Pink Paislee. The colours are just to die for and that cute little tree...oh I can't wait!

I'm not usually a fan of Little Yellow Bicycle...but the Autumn Bliss collection! I totally fell in love with it! And the quality of the papers! I'm impressed!

And finally one of my take my breath away choices for this season: My Mind's Eye Oh La's just...ok, I have no words...I could stare at these papers forever!

But I won't be staring for much longer...hopefully I can get my acid-free hands on these goodies very soon! Just waiting for my 250 pictures to be printed! Heehee!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

A month?

Is it really over a month since my last post?! Wow!

It's been quite an interesting time in BC. I have lots to tell you and over 500 pictures to show you...well I won't bore you with that many! lol Maybe just a few today, and some more later on as I slowly get back into Blogland :)

We drove for long long hours...

And went for walks...

We had a blast by the lake...

And mastered the fine art of rock throwing by the river...

Lots of fun bubble baths...

And obscene amounts of junk food...

It wasn't all Photography and Nature...there was also shopping for scrapbook supplies (yes, I am so talented that I manage to shop for paper and embellies anywhere in the world). But that'll be tomorrow's post.

Have a beautiful Sunday!

We are heading to BC tomorrow for a well deserved holiday, so I won't be posting in the next week or so.

But before I leave, I have some great news to share! Two of my layouts have been featured in My Mind's Eye blog and Aussie Scrap Source. Yay!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you soon!

Today I'm playing with an awesome sketch from Sketchy Thursdays, and gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye.

Have a wonderful evening!

Another Sunday Layout

I love Sundays. Lazy, rainy, summer Sundays are the best!

Today I used my new papers from My Mind's Eye. They're from the Colorful Christmas collection. That's right, Christmas papers for a Summer layout! Why not! lol

I had so much fun creating this page, especially those pictures that still make me giggle!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

100 posts already? Well how's about a LO to celebrate? I am totally obsessed with these Collage Press papers, Bazzill Dots are just incredibly cute, and my all time favourite photo of my Munchkin.

Have a wonderful Friday!

This and that

I've been embarrassingly lazy around the house...but very productive in the craft room. I don't feel guilty, we all need a break from time to time right?

I tend to be very critical with my pages, and if I don't receive feedback I immediately think that they suck *sigh* I have to stop caring so much about the comments and just enjoy what I'm priority #1 from now on: To have fun!

Have a beautiful evening!

Sunday night craftyness

Hello and happy Monday!

I made this page last night using the last of my Early Bird papers. Don't you just love them!

I used an old sketch by the lovely Valerie Salmon. She's one of the most talented ladies I met in the craft world! Though I always thought her style wouldn't suit mine but I was wrong. I totally love how it turned out!

Have a wonderful Monday!

In love

When I shop online for scrapbook supplies I tend to look only at my favourite manufacturer's know, stick to your comfort zone. Well, last night I came across this collection from Collage Press and immediately fell in love!

I was a complete impulse buy that I'm sure i won't regret!

And as you know, I have a thing for everything vintage from the 20's and 30's. And what could be more suitable for this new uber project that I have in mind? Graphic 45!

This is one the few times I completely fell in love with everything that these guys make! I could buy their entire store! Well I didn't lol, just bought a few papers to get me started...*sigh*

Now to sit patiently and wait for my beloved mailman!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

One of my favourite photos

Don't you love Saturday afternoons? It's my favourite time of the week. I used to have this long naps...well naps are now shorter, and followed by some quality scrapping time. It's even better when it's rainy. For some reason my creative brain works better in humid weather! lol

I took this week's challenge at 52 Sketches. After a few days of really bad mojo I finally made a page I am completely happy with. Enjoy!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Today's Munchkin's birthday. He's 2!

I though about scrapping one of his first pictures when he was only a few hours old. I can't believe how tiny he was!

Have a beautiful day!

A quick page

I made this quick page last night...not really happy about the results though. I wanted to upload it before midnight for the July Sketch challenge at 2 Peas...well not only it looks "unfinished", I used the wrong sketch! That'll teach me! lol

Maybe I should just relax and enjoy scrapbooking for what it is as oppose of trying so hard to get some sort of recognition, a DT position, a praise...I wanted so bad to be good at this that I'm losing my perspective...does it make any sense?

Maybe the talent is just not here and I should just take it for what it really is...just a hobby :-)

Have a beautiful weekend.

Rainy afternoon

D is out of town. The boy is minding his own business (which consists of moving each and every toy from his bedroom into the living room lol). And it's a quiet rainy afternoon...perfect for scrapbooking!

I just got some more June Bug goodies in the mail, and this is what I made:

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lemonade is here!

I made this page inspired by Billy Dean's song "Let them be little". I used the gorgeous Lemonade collection; yes, you can use these papers for a boy's layout too!

Have a great evening!

Have a wonderful evening!
