Halloween album I

I know it's May, and it feels weird, but I really wanted to make a Halloween album for my boy (and use my stash of Echo Park and My Mind's Eye papers before they get too old!). So here's a few of my layouts...doesn't it almost make you wish we were in Autumn?! lol

I hope you are enjoying your Monday! xoxo

Rainy days

When I'm tempted to buy something frivolous I usually ask myself "Do I really need this?". But when it comes to the kid, the answer is easy..."Yes, of course he needs it!". I suppose it makes you feel like a good parent to fill his closet with unnecessary but oh-so-cute outfits right?

And like my heroine Becky Bloomwood would say..."It's an investment!"
On a crafty note, things have been slow. I only managed one page this week, but I have a few on the works for the upcoming weekend!

Papers are My Mind's Eye and the sketch is by the fabulous Julie Bonner.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Tutorial #2 - Stamp and stitch!

I'm not a huge fan of Sassafras, but these new Stitching stamps are just fantastic! I used them in my new page for 52 Sketches and I really love how it turned out!

I used just one sheet of My Mind's Eye Abbey Road paper, front and back side:

And the super duper stamps to fake the stitching:

And to keep with the "nothing goes to the garbage" motto, I used the bottom label of the sheet to make the tittle and a little embellishment. It came very handy when I realized you could spell BAD BOY using the ABBEY ROAD letters (I'm so smart...).

Finally a Prima flower, oh how I wish I could use more flowers in my layouts!

And ta-da! A less than 30 minute page before bedtime!

Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Tutorial #1 - Nothing goes to the garbage!

Hello and happy Sunday!

I finally managed to get some quality scrapbook time and this is what I came up to: A sketch by

I love to find inspiration with unusual materials. Here I cut a circle from a scrapbook goodies box and added some distressing glitter:

You have to use a good amount of glue to make sure the pictures won't go anywhere in the middle of the night:

And place it on the background paper. I suggest a soft design to make the photos pop nicely:

I couldn't decide which design to use for the strips...they are all so gorgeous! So why not use them all?! The paper pack label was perfect for that!

Place the photos and the background paper on the label making sure you cover the bar-code!

I used some butterflies embellies, Basic Grey stamps (from the Porcelain collection), orange ric-rac, and my all time favourite Apron Lace punch.

The small alphas along the lines of the circle add a nice touch (no idea where they came from, Dollar Store I guess?). And the big alphas are Pink Paislee (coloured with alcohol marker to match)

Finally, the journaling. I prefer to print my journaling. I think it looks more "professional", but being that my printer in in storage I had to do it the "unprofessional" way. Ugh.

Ta-da! A quick layout using wrapping box, labels, and old embellies! Nothing goes to the garbage!

*Disclaimer* - The "Nothing goes to the garbage" motto doesn't apply to you honey. I'm still going to spring clean the garage ;-)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Autumn goodies

The new CHA releases are so wonderful that I am having a really hard time sticking to my scrapbook budget. I want everything!

My favourites so far are Amber Road by Pink Paislee. The colours are just to die for and that cute little tree...oh I can't wait!

I'm not usually a fan of Little Yellow Bicycle...but the Autumn Bliss collection! I totally fell in love with it! And the quality of the papers! I'm impressed!

And finally one of my take my breath away choices for this season: My Mind's Eye Oh La La...it's just...ok, I have no words...I could stare at these papers forever!

But I won't be staring for much longer...hopefully I can get my acid-free hands on these goodies very soon! Just waiting for my 250 pictures to be printed! Heehee!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Another Sunday Layout

I love Sundays. Lazy, rainy, summer Sundays are the best!

Today I used my new papers from My Mind's Eye. They're from the Colorful Christmas collection. That's right, Christmas papers for a Summer layout! Why not! lol

I had so much fun creating this page, especially those pictures that still make me giggle!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

This and that

I've been embarrassingly lazy around the house...but very productive in the craft room. I don't feel guilty, we all need a break from time to time right?

I tend to be very critical with my pages, and if I don't receive feedback I immediately think that they suck *sigh* I have to stop caring so much about the comments and just enjoy what I'm doing...so priority #1 from now on: To have fun!

Have a beautiful evening!

Happy weekend!

I made this layout using a photo from Keagan's 1st birthday. Just thinking how hard the first year was but also extremely rewarding :-)

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

Toes

What a crazy week! I can't believe it took me 5 days to complete this layout...that's how hectic it was around here.

This page is for this week's challenge at 52 Sketches. A lot of fun to work with!

Now time to relax and enjoy the weekend before I start stalking the mailman on Monday...Junebug goodies are coming from Montreal! Yay!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Bed bug

Hello and Happy Thursday!

I made this page using the sketch #24 from 52 Sketches. I think this one is going into my favourite list...for a few reasons:
  • I really like how you can turn a crappy photo into a beautiful scrapbook page
  • The embellies from the Bloom & Grow collection are so adorable
  • I have so much fun adding stitches to the page
  • And last but not least...this totally made my day...Stephanie likes my page! This is the second time a crafty celeb made a coment about my work, oh my ego feels soooo good!

Have a wonderful evening!

It feels like fall so...

It's been cold and rainy for a week straight...it really feels like Fall and it inspired this layout with a picture from last year. I absolutely adore the Bloom & Grow collection, isn't it lovely?

Have a fantastic evening!

Yummy mail!

I've been wanting these kits since their release...and today I finally got them! And...they were on sale at SMM! (everything is on sale right now so don't miss the chance to get some yummy goodies!)

I can't wait to start playing with them...aren't they fabulous?!

Have a wonderful evening!
